An icon PSD is a file that can only be read by adobe photoshop because it has the .psd filename. Avatar PSDs are like avatar textures, except much more versatile and offer colour variations! To use one, simply download and open up the file and paste your base on the layer called "IMAGE GOES HERE". You can do whatever adjustments you feel fit. These PSDs were made with adobe photoshop 6.0 so they will most likely be compatible with your version.
